Boxer Poems

 If your boxer chases flies
Or gives those heavy sighs
Soulful eyes to view you sadly
Before kidney beaning madly

Maybe jumps high in the air
Sleep and snore without a care
With a faith that is unerring
Despite what is occuring

If he tries to swim but sinks
If he's silly but, still thinks
If he loves you like a child
And is sometimes just as wild

There's a story to be told
Of boxers young, of boxers old
And it's here they get unfurled
At our own place, Boxerworld!!

The Half Breed

They call me a BOXER,
but I'm a HALF-BREED.
Part BOXER, of course,
and part people indeed.

Anyone who owns me knows that it's true.
We're so close to being people,
we're like part of you.

"He's like one of the family,"
you've heard people say.
"Don't know how we'll manage when he passes away."

But they'll get another BOXER,
a pure-bred at first.
Not the most well behaved puppy,
but far from the worst.

Then the change takes place,
the same as before.
They'll end up with the same human
HALF-BREED once more.

Brown Dogs Forever

Boxers are the best, I'll argue that with any
Regal and expensive they're sure worth every penny
Only a face that us moms & dads can love
Wrinkly and slobbery, they're just a step above
No other dog comes close to them in their perfection
Dare I say I love my Boxer without any reservation?
Often people are frightened by their power and might
Great protectors they are, but there's no need for fright
Sweet and gentle when trained well right from the start
Forget all your fears, these dogs are all heart
Oh they're filled with life and lots more pep than most
Ready for anything, as we Boxer lovers boast
Ever the clowns, yet so stoic and tough
Very few owners can praise them enough
Every Boxer owner says no other breed will do
Regal, fun and loving with a heart that's ever true
